The department’s teaching activities focus on lecturing Surveying and Geodesy and all the related elective and optional courses for the civil engineering undergraduate students and the architects taught by the Faculty of Architecture. Our department – together with the Department of Photogrammetry and Geoinformatics – is responsible for the curricula of the specialization in geoinformatics for the BSc course in Civil Engineering, the MSc course in Surveying and Geoinformatics and the PhD courses in the same field.
The department is active in both the state-of-the-art professional and research activities in land and engineering surveying, land registry, cadastre, mapping and geodesy. Our research activities mainly focus on high-end engineering surveying, deformation measurements, regional gravity field modelling, geodynamics, and satellite positioning and navigation.
