EUCEET conference at BME in 2025
The BME Faculty of Civil Engineering was previously an active member of the EUCEET (European Civil Engineering Education and Training Association). Our faculty has been part of the Bologna process since the early 2000s, using the experience of EUCEET partners to develop the first bachelor and master curricula and to support the development of the qualification structure based on these curricula. After a break of a few years, the Faculty renewed its membership in 2021 and has since then regularly participated in EUCEET conferences and general assemblies, and has been involved in the work of the association. At its 17th General Assembly, on 18 October 2024 in Paris, the association elected a new administrative council and a new governing board.
In the position of President, Dr Šarūnas Skuodis (Vilnius Gediminas Technical University) will replace Dr José Turmo (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya-Barcelona Tech), while Dr Thibaut Skrzypek (Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées Paris) will continue to support EUCEET as Secretary General.
The General Assembly elected Dr. Tamás Lovas, a member of our faculty, as a member of the administrative council and Vice-President of the association.
With the support of the former president, the new presidency aims to expand and activate the association.
One element of this will be next year's EUCEET conference, which will be hosted by our faculty on 16-18 October 2025 at the BME; its central theme will be "Teaching Gen Z Civil Engineers”.
Participants from a number of EUCEET and EELISA partner universities are welcome. We hope that the event will also provide an opportunity to strengthen cooperation between national civil engineering education institutions.
