Specialization in Land Surveying and Geographical Information Systems Engineering MSc
During the design, construction, efficient operation, and development of the facilities in our built environment, the high-level application of spatial databases, modern positioning methods, geographic information (GIS) technologies, and intelligent transportation systems is indispensable. Engineers graduating from the Surveying and Geoinformatics Engineering Master's program can not only facilitate spatial data acquisition using state-of-the-art geodetic and remote sensing methods, but they also possess in-depth knowledge of higher geodesy and satellite positioning.
The mission of the specialization is to train engineers who possess comprehensive knowledge in the fields of land surveying, geodesy, and geoinformatics. They are capable of planning and executing geodetic works related to the establishment of unique engineering facilities, and even national geodetic base operations.
During their studies, students become familiar with the geodetic tools for observing and analyzing our planet, including satellite positioning and remote sensing, mobile mapping systems, and the aspects of data acquisition utilizing automated sensor systems. We introduce our students to the earth science foundations and numerical procedures related to the processing of geodetic measurements and the evaluation of results. We prepare our students to perform research and development engineering tasks.
