Language learning at BME

The BME Centre of Modern Languages (INYK) is responsible for foreign language education at BME. INYK organises and manages the (specialist) language education of students, language development of the university's lecturers and staff, and operates the Centre for Interpreter and Translator Training, as well as the BME Language Examination Centre, which provides accredited language examinations. In addition, it coordinates translations at the university and builds the BME terminology database to support the uniform use of university language.

BME students can learn a foreign language free of charge, as well, while studying at the university. General and specialist language courses are available in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish, and Hungarian as a foreign language is also an option. Language education is practice-oriented and takes place in small groups. Students can also take courses in skills development, level maintenance and grammar systematisation. And as a credit subject, they can acquire specialist language skills that support professional language use (business language, technical language), language use in the workplace (intercultural communication, communication skills development) or language use at university (TED presentations).
