The modern SWOT sensor provides a new perspective for monitoring rivers from space compared to traditional satellite imaging instruments. Since its launch in late 2022, it has been establishing a new observation framework for the global tracking of water levels and river discharge. Processing these datasets and cross-referencing them with in-situ measurements can offer unprecedented spatial and temporal coverage for various water management applications. The aim of this TDK project is to gain an in-depth understanding of this satellite measurement technology and to analyze runoff datasets.
