The Erasmus+ mobility grant is one of the European Union’s most significant student and teacher exchange programs, aiming to strengthen the international dimension of European higher education and promote mobility among university lecturers and students. Through the program, lecturers can give lectures or carry out teaching activities at foreign universities while receiving support to cover their travel and living expenses. The grant provides valuable international experience and professional connections, enabling lecturers to learn new teaching methods, improve their language skills, and contribute to the international network of their home institution, while also fostering intercultural understanding and the integration of the European Higher Education Area.

The aim of the grant is to provide financial support to reward successful postdoctoral scientific achievements as measured by publications.

The Fulbright Scholarship is one of the world’s most renowned and prestigious international exchange programs, established in 1946 to strengthen educational and cultural ties between the United States and other countries. The program aims to provide students, researchers, teachers, and professionals with opportunities to study, conduct research, or teach abroad, while fostering dialogue and mutual understanding among different cultures. The Fulbright Scholarship not only offers financial support but also provides a chance for professional and personal growth, as participants gain new knowledge, build international connections, and later use their experiences to benefit their own communities.

The János Bolyai Research Scholarship is awarded to encourage and recognize outstanding research and development performance. It is granted through a public application process by the Board of Trustees, which operates within the framework of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA) and is appointed by the President of the MTA. Eligible applicants are individuals under the age of 45 who hold a scientific degree but have not yet obtained the title of Doctor of the MTA.

The Pro Progressio Foundation scholarships provide financial and professional support for students, lecturers, researchers, and occasionally high school teachers of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME), in recognition of and as encouragement for various achievements. The foundation’s mission is to foster talent development, scientific, technical, and innovation-related activities, as well as to enhance the quality of education within the university environment. Among the Pro Progressio scholarships are awards for students and lecturers based on TDK and OTDK results, thesis and diploma project prizes, innovation grants, and other competitions that recognize outstanding scientific performance. These scholarships and awards are announced and granted annually by the Foundation’s Board of Trustees to those who achieve the best results.

The EKÖP is the continuation and expansion of the New National Excellence Program (ÚNKP), which began in 2016. The goal of the integrated excellence scholarship program is to recognize research excellence and to support the launch of research careers for highly talented young individuals. The program’s announced calls for applications support academic and research excellence in higher education, targeting students in undergraduate, master’s, or doctoral programs, as well as doctoral candidates, prospective PhD holders, and young lecturers and researchers who are conducting successful research and creative activities at higher education institutions.

The Young Researchers Academy (FKA) aims to represent the voice of young researchers in Hungary, both domestically and internationally. The FKA is a grassroots scientific society that operates in harmony with the public responsibilities of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA) and held its inaugural meeting on May 7, 2019. Its main mission is to support the professional development of young researchers and to strengthen the connection between the research community and society. In close cooperation with the Academy’s bodies, the FKA actively participates in the scientific activities of the MTA. In addition, it collects and organizes current funding opportunities so that researchers can easily access resources offered by the MTA, the National Research, Development and Innovation Office (NKFIH), and other sponsors in one place.
